Margaretann House, D.N.P., F.N.P.-C.
BIOMargaretann House has been married to her wonderful husband since 1986. They have one daughter and son-in-law, an English bulldog and a Pekinese. She has been very fortunate to have traveled all over the world as her father served 30 years and her husband 20 years in the Marine Corps. She has lived all over the U.S., in Morocco, Japan and graduated from Kubasaki High School in Okinawa. This experience has provided her with a great respect and appreciation for people from any background or culture.
Margaretann is a firm believer in giving back to the community. She has been a volunteer Family Nurse Practioner at the Open Door Clinic in downtown Raleigh since 2002. She volunteers annually at Garner High School in providing sports physicals. She also volunteers for the American Heart Association and whatever else she can find the time to fit into her schedule.
She has had many positions throughout her nursing career to include bedside nursing, case management, administrative and NP. What she has learned over all these years is that she loves any job that allows her to spend time with patients and their families. She says it is such a rewarding feeling to know that she has made even the smallest difference in someone else’s life, and each and every one of her patients makes a great impression in her life.
In addition to her work with North Carolina Heart & Vascular and Rex Healthcare, Margaretann is a faculty member at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and George Washington University in the family, adult and geriatric nursing practitioner programs.
