Dr. Campbell is an internationally recognized cardiologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. As a Cardiac electrophysiologist, Dr. Campbell’s practice is focused on the treatment and prevention of sudden cardiac death.

In addition, Dr. Campbell has been a national leader in the promotion of cardiovascular care in women. As an internationally recognized expert in the field, he several books on Heart Disease in Women in publication and expects to see his first in bookstores in 2014. He is passionate about working tirelessly to ensure that underserved patient populations, such as women and minorities, are appropriately treated and receive the best care available. While cardiovascular disease death rates in men have declined over the last 15 years, death rates among women have remained constant, and Dr. Campbell believes that this is unacceptable. He has been an advocate for prevention of sudden cardiac death in women for the last five years and has developed, produced and chaired national symposia on women and cardiovascular disease prevention in order to increase awareness of the risk factors and warning signs of cardiovascular disease in women among both healthcare providers and women across the nation. Through education, awareness and advocacy, it is his hope that we can reduce cardiovascular disease in underserved populations.

In addition to his clinical activities, Dr. Campbell is the on air Medical Expert for WNCN and appears weekly on the NBC17 Today Show. He is also a national Fox News Contributor and appears regularly on both the Fox News and Fox Business Networks. Dr Campbell’s TV appearances are focused on educating the public about common health problems with the hope of improving awareness in the community

On a personal note, he is a husband to his wife of 14 years and father to his 13-year-old daughter. He enjoys music, golf and time outside at the NC coast. He is a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Raleigh, where he sings as a cantor during Sunday masses. He is involved in several charitable organizations, such as the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF), where he has served on the board of directors.
